You may choose only the item you desire, however, any funeral arrangement you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead.
If legal or other requirements mean you must buy items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services selected.
Basic services of funeral director and staff and overhead:
Our professional service charge includes: but is not limited to staff to respond to initial request for service, arrangement conference with family or responsible party; preparation and filing of necessary certificates and permits; placement of obituary notices; planning of funeral Arrangements; and coordination of service with cemetery, crematory, vault companies, and others as required. Included in this charge are overhead expenses relative to our facility such as insurance, maintenance and utility expenses, secretarial, and administrative costs , and equipment and inventory expenses, This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of funeral arrangements you select, (this fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains).
Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.
Traditional and cremation caskets are available (a complete price list will be provided at the funeral home). Vaults are available (a complete price list will be provided at the funeral home). Cremation urns, cremation jewelry and keepsake urns are available (a complete price list will be provided at the funeral home). Miscellaneous merchandise, such as register books, memorial folders, prayer cards, burial dresses and suits are also available.
Full service cremation includes: Basic services of funeral director and staff, embalming and other necessary preparation of the body, use of facilities for visitation and/or funeral service, transfer of remains to funeral home and other necessary vehicles. Direct cremation includes: Basic services of funeral director and staff, appropriate share of overhead costs, transfer of remains to funeral home and crematory and all necessary authorizations. (It doesn't include embalming or visitation or funeral service)
Immediate burials (without ceremony) includes: Basic services of funeral director and staff, a proportionate share of overhead costs, removal of deceased from place of death, and local transportation to the cemetery (this charge doesn't include a casket or vault). Forwarding of remains to another funeral home includes: Basic services of funeral director and staff, a proportionate share of overhead costs, removal of remains from place of death, shipping container, necessary authorizations, and local transportation to airport. (this charge doesn't include any ceremony prior to forwarding the remains). Receiving remains from another funeral home includes: Basic services of staff, temporary shelter of remains, local transportation to cemetery or crematory (this charge doesn't include services of staff or use of facilities for a funeral ceremony). This list does not include prices for certain items that you may ask us to buy for you such as cemetery or crematory services, flowers, and newspaper notices. The prices for those items will be shown on your bill or the statement describing the funeral goods and services you selected.
