Dostal, Jacqueline Ann "Jackie" (nee Block) Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Monday, March 11, 2024 at the age of 67 years, 5 months and 17 days. Born Sunday, September 23, 1956 to the late Alexius and Bernadine Block (nee Mraz) in St. Louis, Missouri. Beloved wife of the late Bob E. Dostal. Loving mother of Bryan (the late Rachel) Dostal, Dale (Mandy) Dostal, Bradley Dostal, Stephanie (Will) Wanstreet and Stacey Dostal. Dear sister of Fern (John) Angelbeck, Jerry (Anne Marie) Block and Dave Block. Proud grandmother of Jaxson, Annie and Leanne. Our dear aunt, cousin and friend. Mom had fond memories of growing up on the farm, playing with her siblings and cousins.  She could reminisce for hours about throwing cow pies at each other, the candies at Grandma's on Christmas, butchering days, walking down the field road, all of it. Mom and Dad were married October 11, 1980, after she broke the mold and dared to go on that first (of many) motorcycle ride.  There is no doubt she was a devoted and caring wife. Mom birthed five kids, but there's no counting how many extras she loved as her own.  If you walked through her door even once (and even if you didn't), you became hers.  She was the best lap to sit on, the best hug to hug back, had kisses for the tops of everyone's heads, and had a big wave as you drove up the hill. Her grandkids were her favorite people, and no matter what needed to be done or how uncomfortable she felt, she had time and energy for them. She didn't love to cook, but would happily prepare a meal for seven, even when four of the kids had already moved out, just in case someone might stop by.  And she made THE best PBJ's.  She cherished our Friday night suppers. Mom was a true saint, guided by her faith and radiating as an example of everything a good person should strive to be. Her faith even earned her the nickname Church Lady.  "I might not be able to do anything else, but I can pray!"  And pray, she did. Mom spent her life talking to everyone, strangers included.  The phone cord was so stretched it coiled on the floor, and by the time she was done checking out at K-Mart, she had the next customer's whole family tree and life story, and she would say a prayer for that person that night.  She likely also knew some relation of theirs, probably from the bank, but also because, as she loved to remind everyone, it's a small world. As much as she talked, Mom listened.  "Anytime you need an ear, even at 2 o'clock in the morning!" Mom always had a camera in hand, delighted in flower gardening, struggled to turn down a sweet treat, cried at things as simple as commercials, loved a Hallmark happy ending, lived to help people, and enjoyed reading obituaries (I hope she would have liked her own, though she was humble, and never would have taken credit for any of it, not even the PBJ's). More than any hobby, though, her life truly was her family.  She wanted nothing and more nothing for Christmas (if insisted, a cardigan with pockets) except to have her family there. She was tough as nails, but had the gentlest soul.  She was silly and loud.  She was selfless, forgiving to a fault, and generous beyond measure.  She was patient, tolerant, accepting of everyone, and supportive no matter what.  Mom had the biggest heart (it was physically enlarged) and loved harder than anyone.  She was a true light in this world.  Mom, we love you always and forever. Funeral services from Fieser Funeral Home 8:45 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2024 to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church of High Ridge, Missouri mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment following at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Dear sister of Laura (Todd) Schmitt, Cynthia (Sean) Schmoll, Michael Eshbaugh and sister-in-law of Matt (Crystal) Morris, Josh (Karrie) Kaucher and Angie Morris. Our dear aunt, cousin and friend. Liz grew up in St Louis and moved to Texas in third grade and then back to St. Louis in 8th. She was always very athletic and excelled in softball when she was young. She loved roller and ice skating, riding her bike, and going to the mall. She was good at anything she tried-and was super competitive. Liz enjoyed a career in transportation/brokerage, learning from her dad and then eventually working with him. In her spare time, she enjoyed thrifting and going to estate sales with her mom and sisters. Music was a big part of her life and she loved going to concerts and seeing live music. She had a huge heart for animals especially her fur babies, Pablo, Nova and Ninja. Liz was diagnosed with Kidney cancer in 2019, a year after suffering a stroke. She refused to give up and remained so strong throughout everything that horrible disease put her through. Her doctors, especially her spine surgeon Dr. Goodwin, always called her a miracle. And she was, always bouncing back from treatments and surgeries with a smile on her face and determination to beat the odds. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be, and she passed peacefully at home with her loved ones by her side. Dusty, Nick, and Emma were her pride and joy. She loved them fiercely. She will be missed, more than words, by all who loved her. Memorial gathering at Fieser Funeral Home on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 1-4 p.m. Service at 3:00 p.m.

Howard, David Paul 73, of Fenton, MO, passed away at Barnes Jewish Hospital on Saturday, April 18, 2020. He was born to Ernest E. and Ollie Jane (Barrow) Howard on September 6, 1946. David grew up on a cotton farm in Matthews, MO where he was the first of his family to graduate high school. After graduation, he completed his diesel-mechanic welding certification at Auto-Diesel College in Nashville, TN. From 1967-1968 he served in the 716th Battalion of the US Army during the Vietnam War. He spent his young adult years riding around St. Louis on his motorcycle alongside his brothers, and found passion in fixing up GTOs and other automobiles. In 1971, a longtime friend, Russell McGlade, set David up on a date with Carol. This proved Russell had good instincts, as they were married October 21, 1972. They were blessed with three children, Monica, Dan, and Loren. Through their forty-seven and a half years of marriage, David and Carol displayed a beautiful example of God’s never ending love through their care for others, marriage, and open door. For many years, David faithfully supported his family through their interests and activities. Every event had a spot saved for David cheering on his children. His quiet, but strong faith was lived out through many acts of services to his church, community, and friends. David proudly took on the name Paw Paw to three grandchildren. In their early years, each of them spent time keeping Paw Paw out of trouble while their parents worked. Cameron, Madison, and Molly brought unspeakable joy and light to David. Whenever anyone was in need, David was always there to help. No matter the situation, David was determined to find a “creative” way to solve any problem! Whether creating sawdust or digging in the dirt, David kept busy with his woodworking and gardening projects. David was a member of Disabled American Veterans, a proud VFW member, and earned the rank of third-degree Mason. The characteristics of being a Mason reflect the values David lived out every day: “being a Mason means the kind of deep satisfaction that comes only from selfless giving; from doing for others without asking, or expecting, anything in return.” He is met in Heaven by his parents and siblings: Aleda Anderson (Jim), Elmer Howard, Levoy Howard (Marie), Arry Howard, Larry Howard, Odean Howard, and Buford Howard; Carol’s parents, William H. and Eva Mae (Laib) Hetzel; sisters- and brothers-in-law: Doris Westfall, Beverly Todd, and Jim Martin. David’s legacy will be carried on by his loving wife Carol, his children Monica and Kris Ehlers (Albert City, Iowa), Dan and Dara Howard (St. Louis, Missouri), and Loren Howard (Columbia, Missouri), and his grandchildren Cameron, Madison, and Molly Howard. Left to cherish their memories of David are his sisters-in-law: Doris Howard, Pam Howard, Dea Howard, and Connie Howard; Carol’s siblings: Janice Nolt (Mervin), Bill Hetzel (Maggie) and Rita Martin; and brothers-in-law: Myron Westfall and Taylor Todd as well as many nephews, nieces and countless friends. David will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Donations are appreciated in David’s name to Vietnam Veterans of America or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, a private burial is scheduled for immediate family only, and a celebration of life will be scheduled at a future date.

Born Wednesday, March 3, 1943 to the late Joseph and Freda Braddy (nee Chapman) in Fredericktown, Missouri. Beloved mother of Donald Wengler Jr; Mark (Sandy) Wengler, and Lisa (John Harris III) Bushur. Sister of the late James Braddy. Dear grandmother of Jenna, Luke, Caroline, Jordan, Micah, Isaac, Trina, Trisha, Traci, Troy and great-grandmother of Jacob. Our dear mother-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend. Carole was born in Fredericktown, MO and married Donald Wengler, also of Fredericktown, in her late teens. Don was 4 years older than Carole, and quite the football player in high school.  They went on to have 3 children, Don Jr, Mark, and Lisa. Carole encouraged education with her kids, and believed it to be very important. Carole attended college at Meramec and then UMSL, and worked as a social worker for MO Division of Family Services for most of her career, and retired from there. Once Carole took her 3 kids to the VP Fair on a rainy July 4th evening, all sporting trash bags because it was raining, just so they could experience the fireworks. Carole lived in South St. Louis for most of her adult life, and tended bar for several years on the weekends.  Carole was a “death do us part” Democrat, but I hear that’s not true, because she’s likely still a Democrat. Carole remarried in her late 40’s, and after her second husband (Paul Zimmermann) died, moved out to High Ridge to be near her daughter, Lisa. Carole liked to call her son Mark, “Little Mark Braddy” when he was young and being funny because he reminded her of her father. She liked to call her other son “Donnie”, until he put a stop to it. Carole stated numerous times over the past couple months that the best thing she ever did was to have her three children. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society at https://donate3.cancer.org or 4207 Lindell Blvd Ste 2, Saint Louis, MO 63108 donations in Carole's honor are appreciated. Proud Grandmother of Amber (Kris) Farmar, Jessica Anderson, Amanda (Charley) Atkison, Sean (Brianna) Scott, and Katelyn Scott. Great Grandmother to Lydia Farmar and Bentlee Kuntz. She was a lifelong Servant of “The Word”. She embodied Agape to it’s fullest as all who had the pleasure of her company would attest even if it was for just a few minutes standing in a random line anywhere and everywhere. There was never a stranger. She understood grief with empathy but would want you to remember her with joy, the joy of seeing her Heavenly Father. She worked her whole life to make certain there would be many join her at their appointed time in worshipping him around his Throne. “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions…”  She wanted to fill them all. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. Her facebook page, Irene Lee Lorts, remains open for anybody that would like to post to it. A special testament to her would be to share how she touched your life or share a cherished memory.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Hungler, Annie Bess "Ann" (nee Feebeck) Entered into Rest on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 3 days.
